my Happy place

I had to return on work Thursday after over a week of vacation.
This sent me into a depressed tail-spin that I knew I needed to stop.
My answer, buy something.
but not just buy something
buy yard plants.
I love love love love going to the nursery.
All the textures and colors put me into bliss
So I talked Ken (not so enarmored of nurseries)
into going with me.
A couple things I learned..
1. holy cow is the nursery expensive compared to that big orange box store
and
2. Ken is impatient
Ok so I knew both of these already but this trip reaffirmed the facts.
I paid over $30 at the nursery for 2 'chokeberry' shrubs and a grape vine.
I paid under $30 at the orange box for 2 small and 3 large shrubs.
Ken was good thru most of the trip until we got home and needed to plant said shrubs.
Then he practically ripped my camera out of my hands when I said I needed to blog my big purchase.
Resulting in this sad photo...

But, I was in my happy place and for a few hours forgot all about that looming all night shift.
The plants were all planted in their (hopefully) happy places and I am excited to watch them grow.

CTI video

Here are a bunch of Wyatt's pictures set to music. The music isn't his bands, but off some random CD that I found of Wyatts. This is the first time I have made a slide show with music so I picked a song off the CD that was close to the right length without listening to it--then when I actually listened to the song it made me laugh so I left it in.

another pic of Wyatt

this is another picture of Team Guatemala taken at the last concert. The shirts they are wearing are ones that they bought in Guatemala. They are the official team jerseys of the national futbol (soccer) team. They had to drink a bunch of Pepsi's in order to get the jersey really cheap. It was something like 3 bottle caps and 10 dollars for each jersey. Wyatt said they nearly died from sugar overload drinking so much pepsi.

competition for Happy Cakes

Ken and I visited the new cupcake bakery
in Fort Collins today. We love Happy Cakes in
Denver but it is not always feasible to drive
that far for a cupcake so we were excited to
try the new store.

We both had a cherry almond flavor.
There are huge chunks of dried
cherries in the batter.
The frosting is softer than Happy Cakes,
but still very good.

We also got a lemon meringue.

Haven't tried it yet but it looks very yummy.

And of course a chocolate. If the frosting I got on

my finger is any indication this will be good too.

Pictures

Here are some pictures Wyatt took. He is not here so I can't ask exactly where these were taken. But I wanted to get some posted...enjoy :)

This one is one of the leaders, Eliot To. Talk about energy..I think he looks like this about 60% of the time.

Wyatt's home

Wyatt is now home from his CTI trip. Ken and I drove over 26 hours in less than 48 to pick him up and watch the final concert. As I type, Wyatt is on the way to the doctors office to try to get some meds to help him feel better. He has been very sick for over a week from some form of intestinal bug. I feel bad for him, he is very tired and doesn't have much stamina. He wants to talk to everyone and share stories, but he wears out really quickly and can't keep up his energy. I am hoping once he gets the story from the Dr as to what is going on he will recover quickly.
I have a video of the last concert that I will try to post if I can figure out how to isolate it and get it posted. I can tell he learned so much and had a really good time barring the sickness. He took a lot of pictures and I am excited to get those downloaded too. I will post more as I get them.
